Our Performance

Bexley Care Trust received a ‘fair’ ranking for both its quality of services and its use of resources in the 2008/09 health check by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The result reflected continued efforts by Bexley Care Trust to ensure its financial position whilst also improving our services to patients.

Waiting times from referral to treatment continue to meet the overall 18 week target with the Care Trust working with local NHS partners to overcome difficulties in trauma and orthopaedics.

The Care Quality Commission also gave Bexley Care Trust's autonomous provider organisation an unqualified license, ‘without conditions’ to provide services, under a new tougher system for regulating standards in the NHS. The autonomous provider organisation which in 2009/10 ran community healthcare services such as district nursing, health visiting, therapies, residential rehabilitation services and the Urgent Care Centre at Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup, met all the requirements on safety and quality of care, which means it is registered with the Care Quality Commission for the new criteria.
