Bexley LINk
A new local watchdog for Bexley’s health and social care services started in January 2009 as an local independent monitor to see whether your services are up to scratch.
Local Involvement Networks (LINks) are independent networks of local people and groups set up to give you a stronger voice in how health and social care services are delivered in your area.
The role of LINk is to find out how you would like health and social care services to improve, investigate issues and use its powers to hold services to account. LINks are supported by host organisations.
The role of the host organisation is to support, facilitate and enable the Local Involvement Network. It will further develop the involvement of local people in Bexley in the commissioning, scrutiny and review of health and social care services in Bexley.
During 2009 five groups were established to focus on key areas of Bexley health care services:
- hospital and acute service care
- GPs and community services
- end of life and pallative care
- transforming social care services
- publicity and marketing
These focus groups will report back to the organisation about their findings and new groups will be set up in future for other specific areas of interest.
